Invest in a Kid and They'll Do the Rest

In a conference addressing international development, South African Deputy Minister of Social Development, Bathabile Dlamini asserted that the key component to gaining an advantage over poverty is to stop the "inter-generational poverty".

Dlamini noted that "young people are viewed as our valued human resources, who must be assisted to find the necessary space of participation in the economy and the labor market."

In an effort to stop inter-generational poverty, Dlamini noted that the South African government has developed a strategy to increase the number of youth in education, employment and training by the year 2014-2015.

"We must show confidence and invest in them because they constitute the future of our country."
