Hospital Partnership Will Open Access to Thousands more Women and Children in India

The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) announced yesterday a new partnership between it’s supported program Business Call to Action (BCtA) and a chain of small, local hospitals around India specifically targeted towards low-income families.

LifeSprings Hospitals has signed on with BCtA, which will assist the hospitals in more innovative and technological models in providing health care. This deal, in line with the Millennium Development Goals, is planned to provide 82,000 women and their families with more quality health care.

According to the UNDP more than 100,000 pregnancy-related-deaths occur in India every year. This joint venture of local hospitals with an innovative business model could provide the necessary access to health that would eliminate a majority of the unnecessary deaths.
