Groups of university students and employees from various campuses across Canada are going to launch a gender equality campaign in celebration of International Development Week (February 6-12). The campaign, known as "Her Challenge, Your Challenge", will promote the recognition and respect of women's rights worldwide. The campaign will be led by Uniterra which is an important Canadian international cooperation and development program jointly implemented by World University Service of Canada (WUSC) and the Centre for International Studies and Cooperation (CECI).
With "Her Challenge", women in developing countries are speaking out for women's rights and equal treatment in every sector such as, economic independence, education, health, citizenship and reduction of violence against women. "Your Challenge" as Canadians will be to echo their messages worldwide, mobilize men and women to take action, and raise funds to support the building of equal societies. It seems that this campaign will be a good way to celebrate International Development Week by mobilizing people in favor of gender equality.
