Nigeria is on its Way to Meeting the Millennium Development Goals

Nigeria is working to meet the Millennium Develop Goals by increasing malaria prevention and providing free medical care for pregnant mothers. In the Zamfara state, the Deputy Governor Alhaji Mukhtari Ahmed Anka announced that the government was providing N700 million (about $45,000) to provide free anti-malarial drugs to women and children.

While distributing mosquito nets in Gusau, Anka stressed the importance of ensuring that these nets were put to proper use, rather than be used for fishing as has happened in the past. He put Nigerian security agencies on alert to facilitate distribution.
