2010 - Year of Review

The United Nations has scheduled September of 2010 for a "high level" meeting in which the nations will review the progress of its Millennium Development Goals. The MDGs include putting an end to world poverty and hunger, universal education, gender equality, child health, maternal health, combating HIV/AIDS, environmental sustainability, and global partnership and are anticipated to be achieved by 2015. 2010 will be a benchmark year for reflection on successes in global poverty thus far and also what needs to be done to meet the MDG's deadline.
