Actor Antonio Banderas has set his sights on the Millennium Development Goals and teamed with the United Nations. He has been appointed a Goodwill Ambassador by the U.N. Development Programme. His success and exposure make him a perfect anti-poverty advocate. The newly appointed Ambassador had this to say about the global poverty battle: "Poverty robs us of our potential as people, preventing us from being all that we can be. This is why it is so important to mobilize all of our efforts to defeat it."
More and more people are understanding that we have the resources to eradicate world poverty in this day and age. Many famous names have followed the likes of Mr. Banderas in the efforts to reach the Millennium Development Goals of 2015.
