Gabriel Nderitu is a self-proclaimed innovator from Kenya. He has taken on the arduous task of building an aircraft from scratch. He has no formal education in engineering, however he clearly shows in this video that he has some knowledge about mechanics. As Nderitu puts it, he was trying to reinvent the wheel to some degree, rather than copying the traditional way of constructing an airplane. It is unknown yet whether this aircraft will actually take off, but Nderitu's endeavor exemplifies the kind innovation and hope needed to lift communities out of poverty. Nderitu's sheer determination, resourcefulness and love for this project are inspirational despite what failures he may encounter.
