It's called a Micro-Irrigation pump and it works by pumping water out of the ground from depths of up to 60 ft. Such a tool is very useful in very arid environments where farming is difficult because water is not readily available. For many families that live solely on subsistence farming it has allowed them to increase their crop yields by enough to be able to sell the excess in the marketplace.
