For Real Change in this World, Look No Further Than Yourself...

In a recent article on The Huffington Post, CEO of Millennium Promise, John W McArthur, writes that "in today's much flatter world, it is everyday people--and, critically, their personal networks--who have the potential to be the world's big new problem solvers."

In today's increasingly inter-connected world, more often than not it is everyday citizens that have the growing potential to make a true and lasting difference to the issues of global poverty. Our government leaders cannot solve global challenges on their own any more.

Despite the numerous commitments made by richer countries, global policy agreements are no longer enough, the MDG's need action from everyone in the world in order to be successful.

"Individuals, companies, and non-governmental organizations need to stand alongside their governments to advance the best solution to extreme poverty, to sustain public engagement, and to hold their governments accountable. The Goals are too important to wait on politics. World leaders urgently need our help."
