The NSF and Gates Foundation Attempt to Put "Food in Tummies and Money in Pockets"

The National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Gates Foundation have teamed up to fund research that will enable agricultural development, particularly in the developing world.

The joint effort will focus on partnerships with other scientific and engineering disciplines that take innovative approaches to impact and enhance agricultural development to lesser developed countries of the third world.

"We specifically look for the strength of the partnerships and the potential to impact small shareholder agriculture in developing countries," NSF's Jane Silverthorne says.
