Future Economic Opportunities for Africa

CEOs from U.S. and African corporations will gather this week in New York for the Frontier 100 Fall Forum to discuss the opportunities for increased investment in African markets with other investors and representatives from multinational corporations. This event is indicative of the growing desire to invest in Africa’s markets, which could ultimately help reduce poverty and raise living standards for Africans.

Discussions at the forum will focus on how to best minimize the risks of investing in Africa while improving lives for the continent’s poorest people and making a return on those investments. Participants will also discuss how to work with local partners to strengthen business operations and strengthen local economies. “Business growth creates jobs, and this strategy is reinforced in President Obama’s newly released development policy,” said Jennifer Potter, Initiative for Global Development President & CEO.
