Better Seeds = Better Lives

In recent decades, agricultural productivity has increased significantly throughout much of the world. But that hasn't happened in many parts of Africa, where farmers still struggle to grow enough food to feed and care for their families.

Countries, such as the United States utilize genetically modified seeds in their agricultural industry in order to produce crops that are resistant to pest, pesticides, and drought. the Program for Africa's Seed Systems (PASS) seeks to utilize this same technology for enhancing the agricultural sector throughout Africa. With the help of the Gates Foundation, PASS makes new seed varieties available to many rural farmers in order to better increase their productivity, income, and standard of living to lift their families and themselves out of poverty.
