Big Changes through Small Donations, the Millennium Foundation’s latest Project

Today the Millennium Foundation, an independent non-profit focused on UN health goals, launched their latest project that works to raise funds through online travel sites. The program is known as the MassiveGood Initiative, and it allows travelers to easily make a small donation with a single click at the bottom of certain travel websites for plane tickets, hotel bookings, and car rentals.

Each click amounts to a two-dollar donation, which will go to UNITAD who is heading the UN’s efforts against HIV/AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis.

Bernard Salomé, Managing Direction of the Millennium Foundation, stated, “five clicks will save a life”. Five clicks, amounting to $10 is enough to buy a bed net – a highly effective tool in curbing malaria outbreaks.

According to the Millennium Foundation website, it takes only $2 to treat two children against malaria, $24 to cure an adult of tuberculosis and $40 to provide life-sustaining treatment for an HIV-positive child.

The program launches today in the United States and is planned to also reach Spain, Germany, Switzerland, and the UK in the coming months.
